Android Pay - Why is my card temporarily pre-authorised for a higher amount?

We do it because the price of your chosen substitutes or items sold by weight may increase your order total. The temporary pre-authorisation ensures you can choose the most suitable substitutes and not worry about small price differences.

Some banks send SMSs when you complete a purchase. It may look like you’ve been charged twice (your bank may send multiple SMSs) but, don’t worry, you will only be charged once for the items delivered.

The final amount will be charged to you 3 to 5 working days after delivery, but it may take up to 10 working days for it to be reflected on your statement.

If you have paid with a credit or debit card on honestbee, you may have noticed that we don’t temporarily authorise you for a higher amount. This is because, unlike Android Pay, when you pay with a debit or a credit card we can charge you for the full final amount, even if it is higher than the total of your checked out cart.
